We are not necessarily built to achieve our highest aspirations, nor to satisfy what is expected of us. And so it is often the case that life is the humbling process of discovering what we are capable of and finding satisfaction in just that.
Maybe that’s why this book didn’t sell well. I found it at the bottom of a bargain bin, which breaks my heart because it happens to be one of my favorite children’s books of all time. Usually, picture stories are about overcoming all obstacles to realize your dream. But here, Leonardo learns what he is capable of, accepts it, and still finds happiness. Not the most popular of themes.
I don’t want to give away the plot, so I’ll just strongly encourage you to find this at your local bookstore and give it a flip-through. This isn’t meant to disappoint the dreamers of the world, rather to show the reason dreams don’t work out is that our hearts beat to irregular rhythms, far stranger than what is expected of us and more beautiful than we could ever have imagined.

I know that I keep making mistakes with the art and you guys are always sure to point them out. *deep breath* thank you for being so observant. But yes, Willow’s skin tone in the third panel is not a mistake.

Ya, another art change would be her expression (just ragging on ya Mark ^_^). But really, you see her like all “I’m ms.priss and I’ll kill you because I’m ms.priss” attituded. But as soon as she puts that too-big-for-her-to-wield sword through him and sees him change like that she’s like “WOAH!!! WTF?!”
