When I first saw this comic I asked Mark whether he actually had any black friends.  He still hasn’t gotten back to me.

After seeing this I had to take a serious look at my own intentions in our pseudo video game based comic and try to crochet some excuse as to how we’re different than the rest.  And the conclusion I came to is, we’re not.  We’re just getting into the cartooning ourselves fetish and we’re nowhere near as purty as Penny Arcade and we’re definitely not as funny as, oh, let’s say Penny Arcade again.  I’m sure we have the same tired first impression as the other 10,000 some odd web comics.  But the truth is Mark and I joke about this stuff all day anyway and it turns out if you just jot it down on paper and then post it on the internet, people come hang out with you, and sometimes they inadvertently pay you money to do so (I won’t tell you why I have to clarify that it’s “money”).

But that isn’t it either.  If I logged into admin tomorrow and saw our visitors for the day was 1, after getting really excited and then remembering that visitor was probably me checking to make sure the site was still up, I’d call Mark and get to work on the next comic.
